Family Recommended | Branson Regional Arts Council is proud to present this beloved tale, in which a Kansas farm girl name Dorothy travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home. Celebrating it’s 80th year in 2020, The Wizard Of Oz has been entertaining audiences for generations. Don’t miss this spectacular opening show to kick off our 2020 season of live productions at the Historic Owen Theatre!


The Odd Couple – March 19-22, 2020 (5 shows)

All Audiences | This classic comedy opens as a group of the guys assemble for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger, who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed, and none too tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born!


The Hunchback Of Notre Dame – April 16-19, 23-26, 2020 (8 shows)

Rated PG | Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s new book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel. Don’t miss this spectacular production that will fill the Historic Owen Theatre with beautiful music, incredible acting, and a powerful story.


Shakespeare – Abridged – May 14, 17, 18, 2020 (5 shows)

All Audiences | All 37 plays in 97 minutes! Three madcap men in tights weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories, and tragedies in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter. An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s plays, THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) was London’s longest-running comedy, and now it’s in Branson for 5 hilarious performances!


Peter Pan, Jr. – June 4-7, 2020 (6 shows)

Family Recommended | The BRAC Youth Troupe Summer Institute presents Peter Pan Jr. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. Featuring the iconic songs, “I’m Flying,” “I’ve Gotta Crow,” “I Won’t Grow Up” and “Never Never Land,” and a rousing book full of magic, warmth and adventure, Peter Pan Jr. is the perfect show for the child in all of us… who dreamed of soaring high and never growing up.


Mama Mia! – July 9-12, 16-19, 2020 (8 shows)

Rated PG-13 | ABBA’s hit music tells the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A large cast, non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers combine to make Mamma Mia! a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget!


9 to 5 – The Musical – Sept 10-13, 17-20, 2020 (8 shows)

PG-13 | Three unlikely friends take control of their office and learn there is nothing they can’t do, even in a man’s world. Pushed to the boiling point, they concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! Hey, a girl can scheme, can’t she? Music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, 9 to 5 the Musical is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie.


The Glass Menagerie – Nov 5, 8, 9, 2020 (5 shows)

Age 18+ Recommended | The Glass Menagerie is a memory play by Tennessee Williams, and its action is drawn from the memories of the narrator, Tom Wingfield. Tom is a character in the play, which is set in St. Louis in 1937. He is an aspiring poet who toils in a shoe warehouse to support his mother, Amanda, and sister, Laura. Mr. Wingfield, Tom and Laura’s father, ran off years ago and, except for one postcard, has not been heard from since. The Branson Regional Arts Council is pleased to present this unforgettable stage classic at the Historic Owen Theatre.


The Sound Of Music – Dec 3-5, 10-13, 2020 (10 shows)

Family Recommended | This Rodgers & Hammerstein classic is the world’s most beloved musical. High-spirited Maria is dispatched to serve as governess for seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, captures his heart and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, and the family’s narrow escape provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre.
