Auditions Announced For Seven Brides For Seven Brothers

Auditions for the Branson Regional Arts Council‘s production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers will be held at the Historic Owen Theatre on Sunday, August 18 & Monday, August 19 (2019) from 8:00-10:00 p.m. Call backs will be held on Tuesday, August 20, from 8:00-10:00 p.m.

Performance dates are:

• Friday, November 1, 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, November 2, 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
• Sunday, November 3, 2:00 p.m.
• Friday, November 8, 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, November 9, 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
• Sunday, November 10, 2:00 p.m.

Rehearsals will be held at the Historic Owen Theatre from 6:00-10:00 p.m., Sunday-Thursday.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Please prepare a 1-2 minute vocal selection that showcases your strengths. All vocal selections must be from standard musical theatre repertoire. NO POP, ROCK, COUNTRY OR GOSPEL.
Please DO NOT perform any songs from the show.
Please bring sheet music, marked and cut, in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. Participants may also use an accompaniment track. If using a track, please provide a digital device such as a phone or iPad. NO CD’s.

All participants will be required to attend the dance call. Please bring appropriate clothing that fits closely to the body to showcase your physique. NO BAGGY CLOTHES. Appropriate footwear is required. Ladies are required to wear high heel character shoes and men are required to wear closed toed shoes; jazz shoes preferred. NO SANDALS or BARE FEET ALLOWED.

The Branson Regional Arts Council’s production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is directed and choreographed by Jordan Alexander-Holt, and musically directed by Lloyd Alexander-Holt.

Milly
A feisty, beautiful, frontier woman with a vibrant sense of humor. Strong-willed, smart, and unafraid to say how she feels. She falls in love with Adam.

The eldest of seven brothers. A tall and attractive hunk. Farmer and hunter. Vigorous, confident, charming. He falls in love with Milly.

Mr. Hoallum
Owner of the general store. He is also the town mayor and Dorcas’ dad. Plays guitar and banjo, and is very protective of his daughter and girls in town.

Mr. Hoallum’s wife and Dorcas’ mother. She is an accordionist. Snobby and uptight. Like her husband, she does not like Adam and his brothers.

The Branson Regional Arts Council was founded in 1965 as the “Taney Arts Council,” and officially established 501 (c)(3) non-profit status as “Branson Arts Council, Inc.” in 1993.

Our mission is “to create exceptional artistic, cultural and educational opportunities for our community.”
