Free Film – White Christmas

The Historic Downtown Branson Community Improvement District is pleased to partner with Branson Regional Arts Council to offer more Christmas fun with FREE Classic Holiday Films at the Historic Owen Theatre, 205 S Commercial St., Downtown Branson.

Everyone is invited to join us on the first three Monday’s in December, and relive the nostalgia of great holiday movies at the Historic Owen Theatre with your family and friends!

  • It’s A Wonderful Life (1946) – Dec 4, 2023 – 7pm (featuring James Stewart and Donna Reed)
  • Holiday Inn (1942) – Dec 11, 2023 – 7pm (featuring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire)
  • White Christmas (1954) – Dec 18, 2023 – 7pm (featuring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney

FREE ADMISSION – SEATING IS LIMITED

No reservations required, but seating is limited and on a first come basis. Doors open at 6:30pm and the films start at 7:00pm. The concession stand will be open with fresh popcorn, refreshments and other tasty treats available.

We recommend you arrive early for best parking, then take some time before the films to shop, dine and explore downtown! Take in the dazzling lights with fantastic displays including an impressive 102 custom fixtures featuring over 100,000 LED lights that will glow south of Business 65 along Main, Commercial, and Sycamore streets.  Directly behind the Historic Owen Theatre, you’ll see the new Chiefs Kingdom Ozark Mountain Christmas Tree in Liberty Plaza. From Main Street in downtown, you can look on the hill across Lake Taneycomo to see Branson’s oldest Christmas tradition since 1949, The “Adoration” Nativity scene.

Crescendo Youth Winter Showcase

The public is invited to enjoy a FREE Holiday Community Concert at the Historic Owen Theatre in downtown Branson.
The Branson Regional Arts Council’s Crescendo Youth Troupe presents their 2023 Winter Showcase on Friday, November 17th (7pm) and Saturday, November 18th (2pm).
Crescendo: “Meaning growing, as in swelling of sound, or becoming louder.”
Since early February, the Crescendo students have been developing their performance skills under the direction of their talented and qualified instructors Jacob Deck and Julie Brinkman. The Winter Showcase Concert will feature musical presentations by these talented young performers and includes several popular songs from both stage and screen.
The 2023 cast of Crescendo include: Marshall Benton, Lee Brown, Lexi Carr, Emma Chandler, Rilyn Chick, Mia Hatten, Xia McElwee, Katy Patton, Alton Prince, Seth Roland, Danielle Stanley and Kaj Swanson.
Come enjoy these talented young performers as they sing and dance their way into your hearts! No reservations required, doors open 30 minutes before showtime.

Our Holiday Winter YouthTheatre production of Disney’s Finding Nemo JR, brings the beloved animated tale to the live stage with a talented cast of young performers!
This is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.
Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo JR. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.
This is a perfect way for families to celebrate the holidays together! A great family show for all ages!

The Branson Regional Arts Council was founded in 1965 as the “Taney Arts Council,” and officially established 501 (c)(3) non-profit status as “Branson Arts Council, Inc.” in 1993.

Our mission is “to create exceptional artistic, cultural and educational opportunities for our community.”

Financial support  is provided by BRAC members, theatre patrons, private donors, as well as additional grant support from  the Missouri Arts Council and other organizations.
