All Ages | The Branson Regional Arts Council proudly presents The Sound of Music. This Rodgers & Hammerstein classic is the world’s most beloved musical. High-spirited Maria is dispatched to serve as governess for seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, captures his heart and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, and the family’s narrow escape provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre.

Three unlikely friends take control of their office and learn there is nothing they can’t do, even in a man’s world. Pushed to the boiling point, they concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! Hey, a girl can scheme, can’t she?

Music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, 9 to 5 the Musical is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie.
